No Time for Exercise? Here Are Seven Easy Ways to Move More!
Finding time to exercise in our busy lives can often feel like an impossible task. Between work, family commitments, and social activities, it’s easy to let physical activity slip down our priority list. However, moving more doesn’t always mean dedicating a whole hour to the gym. Here are seven simple ways to incorporate movement into your daily routine, making it easier to stay active without overhauling your schedule.
1. Take the Stairs
Take the stairs — whenever you have a chance to take them instead of that elevator, go for it! One of the best exercises is to climb up and down stairs, which pushes your heart rate way high up … it works great for legs. Quick way to sneak in a workout, especially if you work or live in a building with multiple floors.
2. Walk During Breaks
Make going for a brief walk while having your short breaks at work or home. A 10-minute walk will get you closer to your daily step goal and give you fresh air. If you can, take a break and go outside. You might be surprised how fast all these days go!
3. Engage in Household Chores
Cleaning the house, gardening, and organizing are all activities that require movement. Instead of viewing these tasks as mundane, think of them as opportunities to get your body moving. Put on some music and turn up the intensity—vacuuming can be a mini workout!
4. Dance It Out
Is music enjoyable to you then dance. Dancing from a planned dance party in your living room to just a spontaneous boogie while you cook, it’s an enjoyable way (that may or might not actually require rhythm) for getting up and moving.
5. Stand or Walk While Talking
For instance, take your phone call while standing up walking around. This small tweak will introduce more activity into your day without a second thought.
6. Play with Your Kids or Pets
Playing with kiddos or animals is a great way to get moving. So the next time you are chasing your pup in circles around the house, frantically searching for his leash as he sits patiently by your feet — I mean running sprints through a field or playing fetch at blistering speed thinking that surely one more throw will be “it” on deciding to leave him trapped forever with a bear tied outside so they never realize how amazing of companions dogs can be when closely supervised- break out laughing because now not only is fun AND physically exerted but also being secondarily burned off!
7. Set Reminders to Move
The problem, instead, is a sedentary lifestyle: Sitting up can reverse that; Stand down hourly reminders on your phone or computer for time to stand and stretch/move or even walk around.basicConfig These small motivators remind you that it’s ok to be sitting but also get off your chair and move!
If you have time to read this then you also has enough for keeping these quick suggestions in day by yourself. Keep in mind, you can move as little or big of an amount as what fits your comfort level.
